What is a spay hook used for?
It locates the uterine horn inside the abdomen and lifts it out through the incision during a spay procedure.
Stainless steel spay hooks, also called Snook ovariectomy hooks, for locating and lifting the uterine horn through the incision in small-animal spay surgery. Supplied to your length, tip form and handle style.
B2B · OEM · PRIVATE LABEL · CUSTOM PACKAGING
In an ovariohysterectomy the surgeon has to find the uterine horn and bring it out through a small incision. A spay hook, often called a Snook hook, is passed into the abdomen, the horn is caught on the hook and lifted out for ligation. The tip is rounded so it can slide along tissue without cutting it.
Hooks differ in overall length, tip diameter and the angle of the bend, and some have a flat handle while others have a rounded one. Because small differences change how the hook behaves, we work from your reference piece or drawing. A hook is usually bought alongside needle holders, hemostatic forceps and a scalpel handle, or as part of a spay and neuter instrument set.
Confirmed against your approved drawing or sample before production.
